Chris Harvey

Bio

Chris Harvey is the Head Football Coach at Clearwater Central Catholic High School, where he has built one of Florida’s premier high school football programs since taking over in 2015. In his tenure, Harvey has compiled an impressive 92-23 overall record, guided the Marauders to seven regional championships, and led the team to three consecutive FHSAA State Championship appearances in 2022 (Class 1M), 2023 (Class 1M), and 2024 (Class 1A). His leadership has helped elevate CCC into a perennial contender on the state stage. In addition to his coaching role, Harvey serves as the school’s Assistant Director of Alumni Relations, fostering meaningful connections between CCC graduates and current students.

Harvey is a proud alumnus of the University of Miami, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Sociology. A member of the Hurricanes football program from 2000 to 2004, he played offensive line and handled deep snapping duties. His playing career included five major bowl appearances, highlighted by a National Championship victory in the 2002 Rose Bowl. He was honored with the Albert Bentley MVP Award as a freshman in 2000.

His coaching career spans nearly two decades and includes significant experience at the collegiate level:

Fairmont State University (WV) – Defensive Coordinator / Linebackers Coach (2013–2015)

University of North Alabama (AL) – Assistant Offensive Line Coach (2011–2012)

Helped lead team to the 2nd Round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs

Coached two First Team All-Gulf South Conference players: Jamie Dixon and Kyle Thornton

Florida State University (FL) – Assistant Strength & Speed Coach / Special Teams Quality Control (2008–2011)

Part of nationally recognized special teams units, including standout performances by Greg Reid, Shawn Powell, and Dustin Hopkins

Played a key role in the design and execution of strength, conditioning, and injury prevention programs

Glenville State College (WV) – Defensive Line Coach (2005–2006)

Mentored four WVIAC all-conference defensive linemen and helped coordinate special teams
